The Domestic Council
|
Dear Inquirer, May the peace, love and joy of the Lord be with you! Thank you for your inquiry into the Domestic Expression of the Brothers & Sisters of Charity. The following pages contains some materials, which hopefully will provide you with some insight about our community. We are a unique community within the Roman Catholic Church, in that we are one community with various, integrated expressions. The Monastic Expression lives at our Motherhouse in Arkansas. It is composed of celibate brothers and sisters, along with singles, families and married couples.. The Domestic expression consists of lay, Clergy and religious individuals who live out the vision of the community in their own homes throughout the world. Both expressions live by one Rule and Constitution, and all professed members embrace the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience according to their state in life. The Domestic Expressions has foundations or houses of prayer located within the United States. The primary expression of the Domestic Community is the local cell group, which meets on a weekly or regular schedule for prayer, study and formation. Those living in more isolated regions with no cell group nearby are still able to participate in the life of the community through regular regional and national gatherings. Apostolic ministries serving God's kingdom are an outgrowth of a life centered on prayer, study and living out the evangelical counsels. The Domestic Expression is divided into six regions. (Map) Your Regional Minister will welcome your inquiry and any questions you may have. Should you desire an application for candidacy within the community, please contact your Regional Minister. We will keep you in our prayers and seek yours as well. May the Lord bless you abundantly!!
